I am pretty good at exercising gratitude in my life. I know that I live an immensely privileged existence, and I don’t take that for granted. But I’ve been taking stock of a whole bunch of big things lately, and this has brought home more than ever how much I have to be grateful for.
That made this month’s One Little Word prompt really easy:
I’ve decided to extend the task, and immerse myself even more in everyday gratitude by taking a photo a day for instagram with the hashtag #gratefulinaugust. I’m planning to use the photos to make a mini book at the end of the month.
This is an act of humility, of mindfulness, and also of self care, because gratitude is good for you “it’s not happiness that makes us grateful, it’s gratefulness that makes us happy.”
